So, after waiting more than half the day today I finally called the Humane Society around 2:00. Apparently their "home studies" are just drive-bys and they had already had mine done.. yippee! Although I fail to see what is accomplished by merely driving past my house, I am OK with it so long as I get the dog before the long weekend.
Well, the lady at the Humane Society had one more interesting tidbit of info to tell me before we got off the phone. Their "Sunshine" a.k.a. my "Lucy" was a boy! A Boy!
She said that Sunshine was a dog she had been working with for months and taking out to their events at PetSmart every weekend. The kennel card had been mis-typed.
Oh well, I guess HE will go around wearing an tag with LUCY on it until I can get the time to buy another one, maybe Matthew can just rub/scratch out LUCY and keep the address. I'm just going to keep Sunshine, my 1 year old MALE border collie mix.
The good thing is that since he has been going to PetSmart for months now maybe he will have good social skills and be able to deal with crowds and car rides.... here's hoping!
Maybe you could name him Linus since there is no Lucy....
