It stormed yesterday, very bad storms.
Im sure it being the hottest day of the year so far did nothing to stop it. It was so hot yesterday, I checked the weatherbug location of the school just a block from me and they had a range yesterday of 69° - 104° within just 6 hours!
It was so hot we kept Toodles in the kitchen and safe from the heat. My Mom read in the paper how it is harder on dogs that have been groomed to regulate their temperatures, but if we didn't have him groomed he would be a mess! I also have been absent minded lately and have been calling him Louie, which was our first dog we had together, one we had to rehome because he was a spastic nutcase. Good thing Toodles pretty much responds to any name you throw out at him.
So, we kept him inside and he did OK, a little pee in an area of the kitchen floor where no furniture is.. I'm OK with that. Somehow dog pee is a lot easier to handle(smell-wise) than the cat pee. haha
The storms rolled in and the thunder boomed and the dog stared out the window all night, and really did not want to have to get out in it to pee, but he was good enough not to put up a struggle when we made him.
The cats, on the other hand, are more fickle. Nermal has to have us in her sights at all times, Patchey has to be in a lap, and Wader somehow has made herself a safe haven behind the toilet. If it is storming at all, that's where Wader will be. She was at one time trying to hunker down under the sink cabinet in the kitchen, but we protested too much about not being able to find her that she has revised her emergency storm location. :-)
Matthew got called out to the apartments twice last evening and I spent a lot of time reading blogs.
It was a peaceful, stormy night.
