Matthew was home sick from work yesterday. He has a nasty nasty summer cold.
He took Cadet into the vet and voila! a microchip!
The bad news was that his microchip was not registered! Ugh. The vet said this dog was a Great Pyrenees mix, had been neutered, and had been groomed probably a few months ago. He estimated that he was 1 yr. old.
He prescribed an antibiotic and some steroids to help speed up the healing of his bare patches around his ears, and gave him a rabies shot.
Matthew tried to get out to get the prescriptions filled, but Wal-mart had lost their power!
By the time I came home from work at 6 (working late, again) Matthew was asleep on the couch and both Toodles and Cadet were lying on the living room floor watching TV.
I headed out and picked up the prescriptions (only $4 at Wal-Mart!) and came home.I rolled the pills into some soft treats, and Cadet ate them without even thinking twice. YaY.
My co-worker may be coming down tonight to see if Cadet would be good around kids, (which I am 100% sure he will be) and I am praying they will take him. They have goats and lots of land.
We did find out that not only is he excellently behaved and trained, he is also housebroken!
I just wish our yard was fenced in so we could keep him for ourselves!
