Yesterday I went to give blood at the Dr.'s office. It was at my "I-want-to-get-pregnant" Dr.'s office, and not the regular Dr.'s office that had me all bruised last week. I told the lab nurse the difficulties I had had getting blood drawn last week and she was very sympathetic. She tried on my left arm first and agreed I have no veins. She suggested I drink a lot of water next time. I had no idea water made your veins easier to detect, strange, huh? So she put a blood pressure cuff on my right arm and was able to get a vein on the first poke. I was so relieved!
After work I came home and let the dog in. It was miserably hot and humid and on the verge of a rain shower, so he came in and we played for a few minutes before he decided he needed a nap.
Matthew stopped by a hotel to apply for a maintenance position there. He is trying to move from apartment complexes to hotels, and I don't blame him. Maybe he will get it.
We left the dog in the kitchen and headed off to Mass. I had a few special intentions to pray for and service was very nice. I think Wednesday nights are my favorite.
When we came home Toodles had peed on the floor. :-( We took him out for a walk in the yard a few times and decided not to go out to the battlefield since everything was rainy. We sat out in the backyard with him and watched the neighbors burn their garbage in a barrel.. and I thought I was moving closer to civilization!
We watched a little TV and did a few chores and then took him out for a final front yard walk in the dark.
This morning I let him out at 5:30 and no messes! Yay!
I didn't know water helped with the veins, either. I always feel like an abused pin cushion when I give blood! I will need to remember that.
