Normally I am OK. I go to the Doctor and they need to check on something, and the needles and the vials of blood don't phase me at all.
Today was another matter. Before all of the dog-drama (see below)I went to the Dr. and had my iron re-checked. I sat in the little alcove where the blood-hungry woman works and sat and sat and sat. My anxiety level was OK, I was just getting bored and annoyed.. I mean as far as I knew I was getting ready to come home and get a dog!
Finally the woman comes back from lunch and I find out that:
1. This is not the normal "one-poke" wonder lady I am accustomed to.
2. This lady had to go get a chest X-ray on her lunch break, and was running late.
3. This woman had not been able to get her x-ray and had to rush back to work annoyed and hungry.
4. This woman was making the most awful chest rattling sounds and could barely breathe.
5. This woman could hardly stand up, let alone find a vein.
6. This woman came at my veins like she was stabbing worms.
7. This lady did not listen to me when I said my right arm is the where all the blood is.
8. This woman poked, stabbed, and jabbed at my left arm because it was easier for her to reach without actually standing up.
9. This woman was in such bad condition that when she stopped to switch arms I honestly offered her a peppermint and a cinnamon because she was coughing/wheezing in my face.
10. This woman was so sick that she took my candy.
11. She poked, stabbed, and jabbed at my right arm and totally blew a vein getting blood and now I have a lump the size of a marble.
12. This lady was so woozy and inaccurate she didn't leave a puncture wound, she left a paper cut slice of me open.
13. I really thought she was going to faint, fall dead, or poke the needle through my arm completely.
14. Next time I see her I will say, "No, thanks", I will just go slice myself open and bleed into a vial.

What the fudge do you do here?!!
I left my house at 3:30, assuring I would be at the animal shelter by 4 p.m., when my dog, the dog I had already gotten an engraved tag for "Lucy", was to be first available to come home with us.
I got there. I came inside, I reminded them of our meeting Friday and who I was, blah blah blah.
Then came the shock.
My dog was missing.
State prisoners came today to clean the stalls and MY DOG RAN AWAY.
They had spotted her, but could not coax her back.
I was there on time with no dog to bring home!
The guy and girl sat there all nonchalantly like nothing major was wrong. He said flippantly, "We will try and get her in some traps we will set out."
What the ^&*%$
First off, I was there Friday. If they had just given her to me then, there would be no issue.
Secondly, they had my name on her file for pick up today at 4 p.m.
Why didn't they call me and tell me not to waste the gallon of gas it took for me to go and come back home?!
I am furious at the Catoosa Animal Shelter.. and I am going to be calling their director.

Been Moving
Friday I left work early and finally, yes.. FINALLY registered our vehicles with Georgia and have GA license plates now. WATCH OUT GEORGIA!
Matthew got his first paycheck.. woohoo. Praise the Lord!
I also went to the Catoosa County animal shelter and looked around and fell in love with a cutie girl mutt. She had just came in, and was a surrender, but they can't release her until Monday @ 4. Weird huh? So, tomorrow after my Dr.s appointment I am getting a dog!
We had the entire weekend to prepare. We bought fencing, posts, ties, and that crazy contraption used to drive the posts in the ground with. I got all of the food necessities, and we are ready!
We made a nice dog lot in the backyard against the house, so the back door empties out into the lot, which will be nice. We cut the grass, and I (must have!) torn all of my weak muscled weed-eating! Matthew sprayed the grass with insect killer to get rid of any fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. We are all set. I am so excited!
We paid bills and bought all of those little things we had been putting off since Matthew lost his job.. and wouldn't you know.. we are once again El Broke-o!
Hahaha

Night at home
After finishing up with my Mom and Aunt, I arrived home around 3:30 and went to Food Lion and picked up some frozen dinners for Matthew to take to work. Lo and Behold I found fresh raspberries and I had to buy them, even though the little package was $2.99, what a rip off.
I came home and started a chicken/cheese/noodle casserole and chopped up some lettuce for salads. By the time Matthew came in the door dinner was almost ready. We ate our salads and the casserole then headed out.
We stopped by a gas station and I bought Mom a lottery ticket with the buck she had given me earlier, and I picked up one too.
We arrived to St. Gerard's early and there was plenty of time to spent kneeling in prayer, which is exactly what I needed (see previous post). We had a very "large" attendance of 15, not counting the priest. Matthew says we have not gotten past 10 before, and this is the first time I have seen any kids on a Wednesday night. As always, the homily was excellent.
Tonight we are taking our "quiet night" with no TV to catch up on some yard work and chores. We still have a room waiting to be un-packed.

The times, they are a changin'
When we were at my Mom's house Tuesday, something dramatic happened.
I realized my parent's wont be with me forever. In fact, the blow came from my Mom. She tells me oh-so-matter-of-factly that she doesn't expect my Dad to live another "5 years or so".
It was an odd thing to tell your emotionally fragile child so freely and without reserve. It was particularly upsetting, and I am still rolling it around in my brain and trying to figure out how I should react to the realization.
I spoke with my friend, who agreed that while I may not have been prepared to hear that bit of news, it was a fair estimate. And this coming from my most medically minded friend, Michael.
Yesterday I took off at lunch and ate with my Mom and then went to visit her sister in the facility where she is recuperating from a broken leg. She lost her husband almost a year ago now, and it was very sad to be there with her and my Mom talking about loss and making provisions for yourself and your family.
Mom wants to take the necessary steps to become a CNA and work with the elderly in a care facility. I think that is awesome and something she is well fitted for. It is a perfect job for her. Michael says she would only need to do a weekend or two training to be able to do it, so that's great.
It is just hard to think about everything changing, everyone changing. And especially the thought of not having any children to get to know their grandparents.

My mind is wandering...
Last night we went to see my parents, sister, and nephew. We had a great dinner and helped deconstruct a trampoline. Then Matthew and I headed up the mountain to deliver it to my co-worker who bought it.
By the time we had arrived back to my parent's house Matthew got a lock-out call. So, we left and headed back to where he works. To let someone in their apartment is $50 bucks cash to Matthew, so I can't complain!
We arrived to our house and spent some time giving our cats attention.
I am looking forward to spending an evening at home tonight.

Interesting Article of the Day
Thanks, Maria for sending me this:
"What the senator is saying there, in essence, is that 'I can't seek to pass legislation, for example, that bans partial-birth abortion, because there are people in the culture who don't see that as a moral issue," Dobson also said. "And if I can't get everyone to agree with me, than it is undemocratic to try to pass legislation that I find offensive to the Scripture. Now that is a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution."

Tuesday Mid-Day
This morning I did not want to get up and go! I was cozy and warm and had it all. But I did get up, and out of the house looking really haggard and showing everyone my true intentions of staying in bed.
We all found out this morning that a very nice man that worked out in the warehouse had passed away. He was always smiling whenever I passed him and I know everyone that worked with him will miss him. He was only 44!
Matthew and I are heading up to my parent's this evening for dinner and to spend some time with everyone. I really do miss being so close to everyone in my family. Although I love our neighborhood, I just wish we didn't have to "schedule" our time together. I blame gas prices!
"I love You, O my God, and my only desire is to love You until the last breath of my life. I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than live without loving You. I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally....My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You, I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath."
- Saint John Vianney.

Monday, looking good.
I managed to stay an entire day at work without management throwing daggers at me. YaY.
Everyone else decided to leave and it was just me and Maria, and we got to talk about her recent vacation to Disney so I had a good afternoon!
Now they are wanting us to sign up for carpooling, to save the environment.. and money. I am all for it basically because I won't have to get out of my comfort zone to do it. My co-worker Brenda lives just a few blocks away and we have rode together before.
The problem is that now that we are being herded home as early as possible the carpooling thing is not a good idea. I can't leave early if I am riding with someone else! Another hurdle.
I've been pricing scooters. 60 mpg, Matthew and I could go to and from work on only 2.5 gallons a week, instead of 5!
Hopefully work will pick up soon and we can busy ourselves right through summer. My car is too hot when I leave work.. I need the fall season to hurry on up!
Matthew's job is going OK from what he says. They have a few questionable policies concerning overtime and compensatory time though. He asked that I look into it and he was right, the federal labor department mandates that each pay week stands alone. So, his company is wrong when they have you work over one week, then let you take comp time in the next week hoping it all washes out on their two week checks. I have all of the printouts and even talked to someone from their hotline. Apparently this is commonplace in his company and I hope they don't try and do this to him because he can be especially stubborn about things.
He is out right now on a call.
Right now I am listening to Radiohead: The Bends, which reminds me of the long drives from Sale Creek into Chattanooga when I was commuting from school and work. I hydroplaned to Bulletproof, my first scary wreck.

The more religiously active an American is, the more likely he is to vote Republican--unless he's black. That fact emerged in the second part of a Pew Forum study on the landscape of religious life in the United States, released this June.
“It’s about obedience to God,” says David, 38. “The Bible says that God is the only opener and closer of the womb.”

The weekend wrap up
Sunday morning we woke up really exhausted. Saturday had kicked our butts.
I woke up early and watched my recorded episodes of Robin Hood and Fear Itself before waking up Matthew and getting us on our way to 11 a.m. Mass.
We were very blessed to be there because we were able to see our first Christening. The baby wailed and everyone smiled proudly, and the little kids leaned over to their moms and asked if they had caused such a scene on their day. It was something to see, and I was glad Matthew and I were there to witness it. All of a sudden all of these baby related things have been popping up, with friends, on TV, and now in Church. I can't help but to think that all of this seemingly torturous experiences will someday let us be rewarded, but it is still discouraging.
On the way out, after greeting Father Liam, Matthew was asked to be involved in a parish maintenance committee. Father Liam told him to think about it, but by the time we had gotten to the car Matthew was already getting excited about being involved in an area he feels confident in. I am so proud of him!
After church we went to Shoney's. We had not eaten there.. ever. It was actually very decent. We had good conversations and good food, and came home feeling happy.
Later on in the evening we went to Matthew's parent's house and had a belated birthday dinner for his Mom. The dinner was excellent and the time spent with the family was great. We certainly had a Sunday to remember.

Sunburn for a cause
Saturday morning we were at the Waffle House for breakfast by 5:45. We met my co-worker there and began our day at the Little Angels Golf Tournament!
We arrived at the Elk's club at 7 and Matthew helped check in the golfers.

We were in our carts and waiting for the 8:30 round to begin early, and got a good head start on taking pictures of all of the teams before they began. There were 28 teams of four people in the morning game.
We finished up with the pictures by 10:45 and went down to Rite Aid, had them all printed out and back to the clubhouse by 11:30! This has been both the fullest and quickest year yet!
We then went back to our cart and sat under the large trees in between holes and talked with the beer ladies. They were nice and we relaxed for the next our and a half there, with a wonderful breeze. The weather was so nice! The first round took forever and many of the second round were delayed because the first guys still had their carts.
At 1:30 we also had a little bit of a lead on the golfers and had many of the first few pictures taken before the siren went off to begin the game.
It took us about the same amount of time to chase everyone down, try not to bother them while the were playing, and get back to the store with our memory card.
As we were leaving it was looking really dark and we thought by the time we got back with everyone pictures it would be pouring down! I took some pictures of the sky, although it looked worse with my own eyes.
By the time we had made it back to the course with our pics, we only ran in to lay them out on the table and say our good-bye's to everyone before we headed home. It rained on our way home, but by then we were burned and very glad to not also be wet! I am sure the golfer's got soaked!
We picked up dinner on the way home, came home and relaxed. It was a great day.

Fixing Kitty

I contacted www.orthopets.com today to ask for an estimate on a prosthetic for Wader, who is now our eldest cat.
That's right, I said prosthetic. You see, as she gets older, she gets wider, and her ability to maneuver herself without pain becomes more difficult. After all, she is handicapped!
Hoping this company can get her fixed with not too much damage to the $$.

Witch-ing around

I worked all day Wednesday, came home and did a few little things, checked e-mails and popped the casserole back into the oven for night#2 of the GREAT DINNER.
We watched a little TV, then scooted off to church, where there were 7 people for Mass. The number doesn't matter though, and Father Liam's homily was as great as when he is addressing the full Sunday crowd.
We then went to Wal-Mart and had a rigmarole (what a funny little word, huh? It wasn't until I was typing this that I wondered what the heck this word really meant, had I been using it wrong all of these years? Did anyone even use this anymore?)trying to get my prescription and Matthew's since we had lost our insurance card. In fact, I had just ordered another copy of it earlier at work that day. Matthew and I still could not find it, but the ladies in the pharmacy were so helpful and called CVS to get our info. from them. How nice! So, we got Matthew's Prevacid and my Metformin ($4) WhooHoo.
We came home and unpacked groceries. I made a snack of fresh strawberries and dark cherries and covered them with yogurt and it was excellent. The entertainment value of spitting out cherry pits is way high, and I had fun making fun of myself. :-)
I decided to try a new skin care treatment, witchhazel, that you can buy in any pharmacy. It is cheap and easy to use. I have heard it is good for my skin tone and oiliness.I used it last night after my shower and this morning before work and my skin is noticeably softer. Although it has a thick yucky smell (like BBQ sauce) it doesn't burn or tingle or make me feel dried out.
As I have learned today from the internet.. there are many uses for it. Pity I haven't found it sooner!

taken from Wikipedia article:
Uses
Witch hazel is mainly used externally on sores, bruises and swelling. The main constituents of the extract include tannin, gallic acid, catechins, proanthocyanins, flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin), essential oil (carvacrol, eugenol, hexenol), choline, saponins, and bitters. Distilled witch hazel sold in drug stores and pharmacies typically contains no tannin.
Witch hazel hydrosol is used in skincare. It is a strong anti-oxidant and astringent, which makes it very useful in fighting acne. It has been recommended for psoriasis, eczema, aftershave applications, cracked or blistered skin, for treating insect bites, poison ivy, and as a treatment for varicose veins and hemorrhoids. (It is found in numerous over the counter hemorrhoid preparations.)
Witch hazel is also known to help with speeding the healing of cold sores with several daily applications.
Witch hazel is also traditionally known as a good first reaction against shaving cuts and abrasions for men and is also recommended by The Doctors Book of Home Remedies as effective for helping sunburns.
Some people have found it to be an effective cure for athlete's foot.
It is also known to speed the healing of piercings.
You can use witch hazel instead of hair spray or other holding products if you have normal to oily hair when you are curling your hair.
Non-medicinal uses
The drug store product witch hazel has also been found to be useful in the restoration or renewal of old furniture finishes. When poured onto a flat wood surface with significant crazing in the old lacquer or varnish and left to sit, the witch hazel will essentially "melt" or soften the surface.

Yum
Last night's experimental "no-tv" was a success. I had the best chicken noodle alfredo casserole made for dinner. Of course it was out of one of those all-in-one boxes, but I did put it together and bake it for 45 minutes! It was really good, and there is enough for us to heat it back up and have another good dinner.
I had left work shortly after noon and had went home in an absolutely pissy mood. Things at work have been very trying. So, I took all of my frustrations out on the house and came home and swept the kitchen and bathroom, did 3 small loads of laundry, vacuumed the entire house, dusted, and did 2 loads of dishes (by hand), scrubbed the table and counter tops, took out all of the trash, and waited for Matthew to get home.
By the time he came home I was in a completely different mood and we ate dinner, and he changed out the storm door handle and installed his magnetic knife holder strips into the pantry. We listened to a little music and read for the rest of the evening in the living room. I finished my book, and he finished his.
Now I am well into this book:

From Publishers Weekly
This fifth volume in the Queens of England Series is devoted to Eleanor of Aquitaine. Evoking the beautiful, tempestuous and sensual woman who divorced the King of France and married the King of England, Plaidy employs the ingratiating domestic details that are characteristic of her historical storytelling. Despite a hobbling first-person narrative that tends to repetition, the novel is dramatic in the sweep of its background and in the vividly realized events of Eleanor's long life. Raised with the Provencal languor of the courtly love tradition in her native Aquitaine, her beauty the toast of jongleurs, Eleanor relieves the tedium of her marriage to the pious French King Louis by daringly joining the Crusaders. She further shocks by pursuing her attraction to unattractive Henry Plantagenet, lured as much by the English crown as by the mutual sensuality that produces her favorite son, the enigmatic Richard the Lionhearted. Later, ambitious, headstrong Eleanor locks wills with Henry, leading to her imprisonment for many years. Even then, Eleanor remains central to the tumultuous epoch that witnessed the murder of Thomas a Becket and other royal infamies. Plaidy's prose style is serviceable at best, lacking in grace and nuance. Readers who enjoy easily accessible historical fiction, however, will find Eleanor's story adequately told.
So far this book is very good, including all of the historical elements and storytelling I enjoy and not cheapening itself by being a "smutty historical romance" like most books out there think they have to be. I am very impressed with this author and she has an entire biographical novel series of European women I am adding to my list of books!!! She wrote mainly under her pen name, but authored over 200 books in her lifetime! Check her out HERE.

Tuesday Blah
Do not see THIS MOVIE. It stank. The story was weak. Regurgitated for the 50th time.
I had the best perfume in my early years at UTC. It was called Sunwater by Lancaster and I bought it at Belk. Now, I can only find it on e-bay. I found Lancaster's website and e-mailed them to see what was up. Turns out they stopped producing in in 2004! Ugh. My hopes are dashed. Even if I get some from e-bay, it won't last for ever.
Tonight is our "quiet night" where we will not turn on the TV. We have a lot of little projects to do, like finishing the utility room paint and installing the new storm door handle. We are making every Tuesday night like this, play a game, work a puzzle, read books, and just have a nice quiet evening with the cats.

Living vicariously through others

A little miracle is coming!!!!!!
No, not ours, but my good friend Niki and her hubby Brian are expecting!!!
The baby will be here almost on their 1st anniversary!
**sigh**
Being Blessed
We have recently been blessed with some antique furniture donated to us. I wrote last week about the metal kitchen pantry I received from my co-worker. It really is unique. It is becoming much more useful than I had originally imagined.

And Sunday we were given a headboard, footboard, dresser, mirror, and queen mattress set from Matthew's parents. We slept on the mattress last night and I did not want to wake up! Finally our bedroom kinda resembles a bedroom!

We had a pretty lazy weekend. Today I left work after 2 hours and went up to my parents' place. I had to get the camera for the Little Angel's Golf Tournament. It is this Saturday, and my 4th year taking pictures.. it is exciting!

Strange Things
So, I blogged previously about my watching the movie, Music and Lyrics. I had taped that off HBO. Yesterday I open up my Netflix movie and it was The Good Night. I haven't tweaked my Netflix line-up in a while, and it was really strange to watch these two very different movies two days in a row.
The Good Night also has a has-been 80's pop star, surviving on writing sub-par jingles. Where Music and Lyrics was light-and-fluffy-puppy-dog-loving, The Good Night was a dark-and-gonna-make-you-feel-something movie.
It was odd and perplexing, but good. Certainly when Matthew tells me all I watch are "weirdo movies" he might have something.
Yesterday I worked most of the day, only taking off the last hour. After careful and serious consideration last night, Matthew and I outlined the situation and the tightness of our budget. If they are going to lay me off, then so be it. Until that eventuality occurs, I still have the sole responsibility to pay the bills this month, as he won't get a paycheck until the start of July. Most of the bills will be late, but I can't just go cutting my hours because the threat of something. So, I'm going to have to do at least 30 hours these next few weeks until Matthew gets his first check from the apartment.

Another reason to be happy about Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams wakes Austria dungeon victim
Kerstin Fritzl wakes up to the singer's hits after two-month coma
Jun 12, 2008
The infamous victim of abuse from her grandfather Josef Fritzl, who kept her in a dungeon in Austria until authorities found her recently, woke from a two-month coma by listening to Robbie Williams songs.
Williams' hits were played to Kerstin Fritzl through headphones for three days before she left the coma.
According to The Sun, Fritzl, 19, who had never been in the open air before she was rescued earlier this year, is now able to dance to the songs, and has indicated that she wants to see Williams play live.
Her doctor, Albert Reiter, explained: "She was sitting up in bed, waving her arms and dancing. One night I had to order her to finally go to sleep at 3am as she kept listening to Robbie Williams' CDs."
Trying times
I came home yesterday feeling rather depressed. I had taped the movie Music & Lyrics on HBO and watched it. It made me laugh out loud several times, so I am truly thankful.

After Matthew arrived home from work we went a few blocks down the road to my co-worker's house and picked up an antique metal pantry/shelves cabinet. It is tall and fits perfectly where I needed it, and now we have even more room to shove cans and whatever else we need. YaY
I'm expecting another short day today as I am feeling the "pressure" of cutting my hours rather than a lay-off. I am already actively seeking a second job anyway, because Matthew won't get a check for 3 weeks and we are getting behind on the important stuff. It doesn't bother me except that I hate to play catch-up.
Oh well.

On judging a book...
I told you all I started out with a nice, easy John Saul book mainly just for an easy story without too many complications. Turns out I am not even passively a John Saul fan anymore, and The Presence was a complete waste. But I finished what I had started.
My next book, called The Death of Vishnu has started out very good. I might even finish it in one day.

I am so bad about this, but when selecting these books for this summer, I had no easy list of books or authors, no particular subject in mind.
I basically walked up and down the fiction/literature aisle and picked out interesting titles which were under 2 bucks... what can I say.. I'm cheap!
So, there you have my confession. I do judge a book by its cover, condition, and size.

Disclaimer
A Lot of the things we get our e-mail boxes slammed with are just false. My Mom sent me this, forwarded from countless others.
I'm not sure if this is correct, but without page numbers or chapter titles, I am not going to read the books to find out, my summer reading list is long enough!
Hopefully he doesn't completely put himself in this corner.
A few lines from Obama's books he wrote:
From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."
From Dreams of My Father: "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race."
From Dreams of My Father: "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white."
From Dreams of My Father: "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."
From Dreams of My Father: "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."
From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Monday Yucky Monday

I left work early yesterday at 1:30 and went to get my car washed. It was so relieved! Then I took some boxes around to Michael's house and left for home.
I came home and did a few chores, did some floor exercises with the new ball, and continued my book.
Matthew got home and said his job was OK. No parades or fireworks apparently.
Tonight we are travelling up to my sister's house and will be playing the Wii. I am confident I can wipe the floor with them on at least 2 of the Carnival Games.

Bouncy

I have been dabating on if I should buy a "ball chair" to aid the strengthening of my lower back. They have them at amazon.com for a reasonable price now. A few years ago they were several hundreds of dollars.
Well, I decided to just try it out without the base so I got one at Wal-Mart for 9 dollars and Matthew pumped it up for me.
I sat for almost an hour and watched TV. It was surprisingly comfortable, and you do tend to sit with better posture, as well as all of the correcting your lower back does to keep you in perfect balance.
My back feels tigher this morning and I can definitely tell I was using some muscles that thought they had been retired. YaY
It was so easy to just sit steady, which is all I need to be doing right now anyways. I am still thinking about the office chair, whenever we get the shelves built and can unload some boxes of books! We will have room for two or three nice chairs in the reading room if only I could regain that floor space.
Matthew started his new job today. YaY.
We went and bought dozens of books to read Friday. He has already sailed past me in our unofficial read-a-thon, but then I did have a busy weekend!
Killer Queen
For my sister.. who can make up lyrics to any tune. I got to hear a pretty good "guessing" rendition of this one on the road trip yesterday, and promised to get her the right words.
Here are the true lyrics, although they don't seem as fun as the ones I heard yesterday.
Killer Queen, by Queen.
She keeps Moet et Chandon
In her pretty cabinet
'Let them eat cake' she says
Just like Marie Antoinette
A built-in remedy
For Kruschev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation
You can't decline
Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice
Chorus
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
To avoid complications
She never kept the same address
In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally
If you're that way inclined
Perfume came naturally from Paris
For cars she couldn't care less
Fastidious and precise
Chorus
Drop of a hat she's as willing as
Playful as a pussy cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild, wild
She's all out to get you
Chorus
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
You wanna try
Saturday I mentioned seeing a prostitute on Rossville Blvd at the early hour of 11 a.m. This has been going around for a few weeks I think, how funny!

Saturday FUN
Today I went to visit my family in the sticks (haha). I left Matthew catching up on his Zzzzs, and took off around 11. Can you believe there are prostitutes on Rossville Blvd. at that time of the day? Me either!
Anyway I got to spend the better portion of the day hanging out and getting in some quality time.
I played the Wii Carnival games with my Sister for far too long and got a good upper-body workout. My favorite is the bowling ball trick.
I saw the movie What Happens in Vegas, and it was so funny!
After coming home, Matthew had the most delicious home-made fried chicken and dinner was yummy.
I am starting my summer reading on a John Saul book. Nothing profound, but I have read a lot of his books before so I will be able to get back into the zone.
Tomorrow is Mass and then my Sister and I are heading off to middle TN to pick up my Nephew who spent the week with his other grandfather. The trip will be nice and I am working on a top secret cd for the journey.
My guilty pleasure for the week is this song below. It is actually in the top 10 in the Uk right now... I can't help but like it.
I've been losing weight recently.. yippee! Everyone has been noticing, except I still feel like a huge blob of yuck. When I bought all of my clothes at Goody's the other day I had dropped two pants sizes! All I can really say about it is I have just been feeling so darn icky and eating a lot makes me feel like it is all coming up. Actually, eating anything makes me fel that way. I've still been eating what I normally would, but I can't finish most things. Of course, my mind thinks I must have something awful like cancer or something, but right now my only symptoms are nausea.. all of the time. I am trying to get back on the Metformin, but I've only really been taking it daily for a week, so it's not that.
I just have the worst time remembering (or caring enough) to take my medicine regularly. The metformin is my first step. If I can get on that daily, then I will be able to progress to the Byetta shots again. They are in my fridge waiting on me to be more responsible about my health. Ugh.
I have discovered the millions of uses of baking soda.. the wonder of baking soda! I used a paste of it in between shampoos yesterday and it cleaned all of the built-up gunk and left my hair baby soft. YaY

My Thursday Nap
I left work at noon yesterday, and once again set out to find the impossible.
I ran by the bank and made a deposit, and the lady behind the glass (and through the drive-thru sliding drawer) commenced to tell me how she could smell my gum, and how MUCH she loved it. In fact, she LOVED it so much she could tell me the exact brand and flavor. It was really uncomfortable and I nodded and drove off with my receipt.
Here is my new gum.. I do LOVE it.

I then proceeded to Goody's, and grabbed a cart and made up my mind I would find some clothes I liked. It did take some rooting around and about 20 minutes in the fitting room alone, but I came away with 4 tops, 1 pr. shorts, 2 pr. jeans, 2 pr. earrings, 1 ring, and 1 bracelet for only 6 bucks over my clothes budget I had in my mind.
I was very pleased with everything. The stores are much less crowded at 12:30! I had it basically to myself, and that helped.
Leaving work early is nice.. but being threatened with a lay-off isn't. So, I will cut my hours and pray we get through the slow times.
When I came home we ate lunch and then watched some TV. I am still angry at myself for not delving into a summer reading list yet, but I am going to McKays tonight. After a little TV I took a nap, such a hot and exhausting day!
I am DVR-ing two new shows coming on for the summer, Fear Itself, and Swingtown. I watched Swingtown last night and it seems OK. Although I was intoxicated by my fresh raspberries and vanilla yogurt snack. LOL.
Matthew starts his new job Monday!

Movie Day

Wednesday was so great! I left work at lunchtime and headed for the mall. I went to JCP and tried desperately to find some clothes because all of mine are wearing out and I can never find anything! Ugh.
I left with a great dress-casual outfit for Matthew, and nothing for me. I went to see Baby Mama and loved it! My very first movie where I went by myself. There were about 40 other people there, so I felt safe. It was a funny movie and I would watch it again, which is a huge thing, because I usually never like to see things more than once. It was endearing and I think should be mandatory watching for infertile couples who need a laugh.
My sister actually could not met me until 3:30, so we went to the 4:00 Sex and the City. This movie was everything I expected and then more. Because I had already read online what was going on I wasn't too upset about all of the drama, the ending was sweet.
We met Matthew and had a delicious dinner at O'Charleys and then all three of us went to visit his parents and see the progress to the remodelling of the downstairs that Matthew has been helping with.
I had so much fun (excluding the shopping bit) and had a truly amazing day!

Entertainment
Now I have no BigLove episodes left, I am catching up on my You-Tube hysteria.
This is by far my most beloved Keane song. It definitely picks me up when I am feeling blue.
They make me smile. **sigh**
I almost peed when I came across this one. How awesome is that?!

Monday
Monday went very slowly at work. Even though I stayed really busy time just crept by.
After work Matthew and I went to his parents where he had been all day and we had a nice pizza dinner and then he went back to work helping his Dad remodel their downstairs. It looks so different from all of my blurry memories of our first few months of marriage when we stayed there.
My Mother's procedure went well today and that is a great blessing.
Tomorrow I am going to the movies with my Sister. YaY!
We are going to see the Sex and the City movie, maybe I can talk her into a double feature and we can see that new scary movie, The Strangers. It is loosely based on the Camp Keddie murders, and that is one scary story!

Baffled
“The fewer the children, the healthier the family, the better chance of getting an education.” - Ashley Judd on MDNBC, click here.
Once again, I am left wondering what qualifies entertainers to speak out on issues. What inside of them makes them think that what they have to say is relevant, or that people give a crap about what they think. People should stick with what they get paid to do. **sigh**

Stormy weekend
Sunday morning was rough. The storms were loud, and the sky was gloomy. We slept in a little and then went to Mass at 11. After church we stopped by Bi-Lo and picked up a few things.
We came back home and turned on some web-music and finished cleaning the house up for another week. Matthew and I made pasta salad and brownies and took them up to my parent's house and had a good visit.
We ended up staying past 10:00 because my Mom had us watching the women's college softball games on espn and we wanted to find out who won. Not that we were into it, but after watching an entire game the last thing you want is to leave during the extra inning.
This week Matthew is waiting to report to work, they have to get his drug test back before they will let him come in, so he is working for his parents today. We are having dinner with them tonight.
Wednesday I am taking my sister to see the new Sex and the City movie. I am really excited about that.
I finished wathing season 2 of Big Love and now I am all out of shows for a while. BooHoo.
Please pray for my Mom who is having a procedure tomorrow.
