Strange Things

So, I blogged previously about my watching the movie, Music and Lyrics. I had taped that off HBO. Yesterday I open up my Netflix movie and it was The Good Night. I haven't tweaked my Netflix line-up in a while, and it was really strange to watch these two very different movies two days in a row.
The Good Night also has a has-been 80's pop star, surviving on writing sub-par jingles. Where Music and Lyrics was light-and-fluffy-puppy-dog-loving, The Good Night was a dark-and-gonna-make-you-feel-something movie.
It was odd and perplexing, but good. Certainly when Matthew tells me all I watch are "weirdo movies" he might have something.

Yesterday I worked most of the day, only taking off the last hour. After careful and serious consideration last night, Matthew and I outlined the situation and the tightness of our budget. If they are going to lay me off, then so be it. Until that eventuality occurs, I still have the sole responsibility to pay the bills this month, as he won't get a paycheck until the start of July. Most of the bills will be late, but I can't just go cutting my hours because the threat of something. So, I'm going to have to do at least 30 hours these next few weeks until Matthew gets his first check from the apartment.
