The weekend wrap up

Sunday morning we woke up really exhausted. Saturday had kicked our butts.
I woke up early and watched my recorded episodes of Robin Hood and Fear Itself before waking up Matthew and getting us on our way to 11 a.m. Mass.
We were very blessed to be there because we were able to see our first Christening. The baby wailed and everyone smiled proudly, and the little kids leaned over to their moms and asked if they had caused such a scene on their day. It was something to see, and I was glad Matthew and I were there to witness it. All of a sudden all of these baby related things have been popping up, with friends, on TV, and now in Church. I can't help but to think that all of this seemingly torturous experiences will someday let us be rewarded, but it is still discouraging.
On the way out, after greeting Father Liam, Matthew was asked to be involved in a parish maintenance committee. Father Liam told him to think about it, but by the time we had gotten to the car Matthew was already getting excited about being involved in an area he feels confident in. I am so proud of him!
After church we went to Shoney's. We had not eaten there.. ever. It was actually very decent. We had good conversations and good food, and came home feeling happy.
Later on in the evening we went to Matthew's parent's house and had a belated birthday dinner for his Mom. The dinner was excellent and the time spent with the family was great. We certainly had a Sunday to remember.
