If you notice the new banner on the top of the page, I got it from the 40 Days for Life website. It begins on a Wednesday, so I don't see Matthew and I being able to volunteer any time until the weekend.
On Saturday the 29th, Matthew and I will be volunteering at the Ladies Of Charity Thrift Store downtown. They are moving into a new building soon, and here is an article the Times Free Press did on the shop.
After that I plan on heading to K-Town! It will be so fulfilling to be a part of something I have been so passionate about (besides the blog-ranting I do on here).
Monday evening was almost a disaster! I was all hyped up and into a "go straight home" mode. Wanting nothing more than to pick up dinner on the way and enjoy a few hours on the couch before bedtime.
But, that did not happen. As soon as I picked Matthew up from the Villas, he got a call out to the Ledford Apartments, on Concord St. Now, normally this would just be normal fare for his new job, but he was finally NOT ON CALL.
Being NOT ON CALL apparently still means that you can be drafted if the other property ON CALL guy is on another call out. So, after weeks of anticipating having Matthew be free, I sat in the car and read for over 3 hours!(Well, I did finish 2 books!) By the time we left it was 7:30!! My hopes for the evening were squashed.
We went to Rib & Loin and ate in, because we were both too hungry to smell it going down the road. I took my Mom who is still effectively a "shut in" a BBQ sandwich and we ended up with no time to do anything!
Oh, did I tell you that Friday evening Matthew, Michael and I were at Bimbo's in Dayton getting ready to eat a lovely dinner when Matthew got called out? Yes, and We had to get it to go and end up eating without him!
So, I am feeling a little bittersweet about the new job after all, and wished we lived closer in!
