This has been a very busy weekend, I must say. Friday my uncle died, and I left work early to go help my mother pick up some relatives from the airport and then organize some things. I spent the night at Stefanie's because she was ill and couldn't work, and we watched some movies.
Saturday Matthew and I cleaned out our vehicles and went to the car dealership to see if we could trade two for one, and save some money, and get a better interest rate. We are still waiting to see if the deal will work out. My mom has a lot of bargaining skills and knows the salesman from a previous purchase. Oh well, if it works out, then good. If not, then I will just try to refinance what we've got. No biggie.
Saturday evening we met Michael and took him to the airport to pick up his rental car and then ate dinner together at O'Charley's. I can't believe he is thousands of miles away right now!!! :-( But I am excited and proud of him too.
Sunday was the visitation at the funeral home and we went long enough to say hello to everyone and then left for Mass. After Mass we went grocery shopping, then home.
Yesterday I took the day off, as did Matthew. The funeral was at St. Paul's Episcopal in downtown Chattanooga. The church itself is very beautiful. I thought the funeral service was nice, although the pipe organ drowned out the congregational singing.
After the funeral Matthew, my dad, and myself went to my cousin's condo and helped get the food out and get everything ready for the family get-together. After everyone started piling in we left and ate at Wendy's. HaHa.
I am glad to be back at work, if only for one day before the holiday.
