According to Wikipedia:
The Rebel Flag:
"It was used in battle beginning in December 1861 until the fall of the Confederacy."
The 4th of July:
"a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain."
So, my point is, the misguided intent of fireworks-goers. Do they just not know the reason we celebrate Independence Day?
Do they not know that their "Rebel Flag" came an entire 85 years AFTER Independence Day?
Do they not know that the difference between the American Revolution vs. The American Civil War?
Once again, I am baffled at the number of rebel flags dating from the civil war being flown at a celebration of America's independence from Britain. Geez.
Oh, and on a side note.. to all those confused people that happened to be at the Soddy fireworks:
No, there is not a huge child-prostitution market in Soddy...
that is actually how parents let their little girls dress.
Appalling!
