Today went OK, we had a lot of stuff going on at work, I got served my official lay-off envelope.. ick. I am still confident I will be able to turn it back in on Friday once everyone gets on board with this new time-off policy. Fingers Crossed and Prayers Sent.
Today was Ash Wednesday, so we kept the kids out late and attended service. We had time to prep them to what it was, what was going to happen, etc.. and they were just so darn adorable. J kept saying through Mass... "I want ashes.". Oh so cuddly cute.
He has had a lot going on with his forehead today! I received a call at work from the school nurse today around 8 a.m. and she said J had walked smack-dab into a door into the cafeteria, and had a huge blue knot on his head to prove it. She had observed him for 30 minutes and was sending him on to class. In his backpack we found instructions for how to deal with head injuries.. oh, the joys of parenting! So, from Saturday's baseball practice he has a black eye, and then from Tuesday's dentist appointment he has a busted lip (when it was numbed he would not stop chewing on it.. grr..) and now he has a knot on his head. This kid looks like he's gotten into a nasty fight, poor guy.
So, anyways, the kids were better than we had hoped for at church, and staying up past their bedtimes, and even running into the Dollar General for a quick cereal bar buy didn't really throw them off their schedule. They were so proud of those ashes, they both got upset when I told them they had to come off before bed. Cuties.
Sorry about your notice :(
