What a Saturday

Friday went well, we all went to Sale Creek to celebrate my Dad's birthday, and the kids enjoyed visiting and seeing our dog, Toodles, running around and enjoying "country-life". He is on permanent loan to my parents, who can make sure he has a better life. He was happy here, but he was not as loved on as the cats. But now he is in doggie playland, enjoying his freedom and having people around more!
This morning I was feeling so bad, can't hardly talk (let alone have a commanding "Mommy" tone when I would like). We were up and had breakfast and meds, then Matthew had to go leave to work at the church.
The kids and I went to get J some baseball pants, which of course they had every XS in white, not grey. Then we headed off to the library, our new favorite hangout. We sat, picked out a kazillion books, and then went to the children's area for the 11:00 story time. The lady that reads the stories is so good at keeping their attention!
Then it was off to baseball practice, 2 hours! I was so proud of J, he was paying attention, listening to the coaches better, and having a good time. This was amazing because in the first 2 minutes he had gotten a ball right in his face, which immediately made his nose and eye swollen. After a hug from the coach, my little tough guy kept right on playing!
T and I watched proudly, snacking on Cheez-Its and trying to keep our noses from running too badly. I was so poorly though I think I could have fell asleep right there on the bleachers had it not been for the horrible winds.
We picked up some lunch on the way home and I took a (wonderful, glorious, much-needed) nap while Matthew read new books to them and made sure they had a wholesome dinner.

  1. Sounds like you had fun. I had been meaning to ask about Toodles, but it jus seemed to slip my mind.
