This morning it was early rising, as usual! We had breakfast, cleaned up, and soon my dad and nephew had arrived to join Matthew and J to go to the boat show!
Me and T took off, too, to go sign up both kids for T-ball and baseball. I am so excited!! The kids are too, but wonder why we cant play games today!
We came home and had lunch, and I went shopping for a few things, namely a new (&cheap) vacuum. Our really nice one broke, and had been limping along until this morning. So, a Kmart Dirt Devil Featherlite it was.. keeping it under $50. It works fine.. and maybe we can still use some of our fancy-shmancy pet-hair attachments.
The kids really got some good playtime outside today. We took them out and made a leaf pile, walked around, scooter-ed, bike-ed, big-wheel-ed, and golfed. But the biggest thrill was watching Matthew and J both "fishing" in the front yard.
At the boat show my nephew and J had received these little dinky Scooby-Doo rod and reels, with a plastic fish on the line. My nephew generously gave his rod to T, since he has far outgrown play rod and reels. J spent most of his outdoors time today "practicing" his technique and catching leaves, sticks, etc. It was so cute, he even had to hold his tongue a certain way... much like his Daddy.
Dinner was really great.. and we have learned to be deceptive parents. Harnessing our very small knowledge of 5-year-old logic, we actually got 2 kids excited about dinner! We were having ziti, spaghetti sauce, cheese, rolls, etc. A normal dinner. Well, they both snubbed their noses at the "spaghetti sauce".. so we said "Oh, this is PIZZA sauce... it is awesome!".. and they bought it.. big time.
Yum Yum, they sure loved the pasta with the pizza sauce. Heeheehee.
