Finally, I spoke with the kid's caseworker this morning. We will be set up with a meeting soon just with the current foster parents. We will get "question and answer" session, without the kids. That is what we are waiting on right now. The caseworker will be e-mailing me at work the details.
She did want to ask that we keep the kindergarten-er in his school for the year. That's fine.. he will be going through enough changes to have to deal with changing schools midstream. So, he goes to Battlefield. We will have to get buddy-buddy with someone (I'm going to start searching for someone at church) who will take him in the mornings. I read the school website and there is no before-school care. They will not let any kids in the building prior to 7:15. And here Matthew and I have to leave no later than 7. Oh well, here is where we will begin trusting the Lord to help out on all of the minute details. We will definitely be forming new relationships with other parents, teachers, and hopefully finding some trustworthy friends to help us grow our support system.
She attends a day care that picks him up from school and then we would just pick both of them up from day care.. sounds easy enough.. I hope it remains so!
What the caseworker told us to expect is a really fast, yet slow, transition. Which means we will get to meet them, spend increasingly longer time with them, do overnight stays, and then become fully responsible for them before school starts again in the spring.. that is January 7th!
Okay, all I know for now.
